|House notes|
A few practical things about staying here, set down plainly.
Arriving, leaving, and showing who you are
- The gate opens, the gate closes
- The house opens from 16:00. Departure by 12:00 the following day. After noon, NT$1,500 per hour.
- Identification
- Please bring your ID card or passport to register at check-in.
- Late arrival, and the master switch
- If you will arrive after 18:00, contact us in advance — without it, the booking may be treated as cancelled. The panel by the entrance controls lighting throughout the house; please leave it alone.
Everyday things
- Toiletries and hot water
- No single-use amenities are provided. Please bring a toothbrush and toothpaste (a 3-in-1 wash is in each bathroom). Hot water for bathing runs throughout the house.
- Slippers, hairdryers, and pets
- Indoor slippers stay indoors. Each room has a Dyson hairdryer — please return it to its cabinet. We are not set up to look after pets, and we are sorry for that; guide and assistance dogs are another matter, and we only ask to be told beforehand.
Getting here, and what is around
- The journey
- Driving, navigate to 長嶺孤島; there is a dedicated space. By public transport, take a taxi from Luodong or Yilan bus station.
- The seasons
- The house sits among the rice fields and channels of Sanxing, near the Announg River and the bald cypress groves. Mountain mist in the morning; stars and frogs at night.
Ways to pass the time
- PS5 and racing seat
- A racing seat and a PS5, with the games rotated monthly.
- Cinema and karaoke
- A projector throwing straight onto the wall of the room, and a 75-inch karaoke screen in the living room.
Extra guests, and keeping the peace
- Additional guests
- Extra guests or bedding need three days' notice so the beds can be made; charges as agreed. Unbooked overnight visitors cannot be accommodated.
- After ten
- By Yilan County rule, karaoke stops at 22:00. Anything continuing after that should move indoors and quieten down.
- Smoking
- No smoking anywhere indoors or on the balconies, e-cigarettes included, and no illegal substances. If the evening catches up with you, please use the toilet rather than a bin.
Looking after the place, and leaving
- Power and water
- When you go out, please switch off the air conditioning, the screens, and any lights you are not using. Go easy on the hot water. This is a small place and it is easily worn out.
- On the way out
- Leave the keys on the living room table before 12:00. Rubbish and recycling go in the sorted bins.
Take the wind and rain of this ridge, and the whole sky of stars, and pour them into your glass — so that one day, back in the world, they become a long and easy dream. Be close here; once you leave the island, go your own ways, and keep well.
